imageData Group installs Techotrans ink.trac system

Despite the economic downturn imageData Group continues its substantial investment programme unabated. Installing the technotrans ink.trac system is the company's latest undertaking in streamlining its manufacturing processes and comes on the back of its purchase of a new Komori Lithrone LS1040P(H) 10- colour perfector litho press.

The patented ink.trac system provides a highly integrated solution for the central, fully-automated filling of ink ducts on sheet-fed offset presses. ink.trac has been installed at its litho plant in Willerby, East Yorkshire and will provide a controlled supply of ink to its Komori lithrone machines: two 10-colour perfector presses (Komori Lithrone LS1040P(H) and Kormori Lithrone 540SP) and a 6-colour Komori Lithrone SL640.

David Danforth, CEO is delighted with the ink.trac system, "Installing the Komori 10-colour perfector press gave us with the perfect opportunity to further scrutinize our manufacturing methods. We want to make sure that time and money is saved at every stage of the process, without compromising print quality. The ink.trak system was easy to install and provides a constant ink fill level which not only improves quality but saves time in press operator priming, inventory stock taking and purchase planning. It also allows us to buy ink in greater quantities, saving the company money".

The ink.trac system is also a more environmentally-friendly alternative to using traditional plastic print cartridges which have to be sent to landfill. The 200 kilo ink drums used in the ink.trac system use special liners, so the drums are refillable.
